Outreach – Direct to You

“I didn’t know where to turn. Our son had already been hospitalized once, and we were afraid he was falling apart again. Then my husband lost his job, and I felt all was hopeless.”

In 2004, Robins’ Nest services helped 562 children and their families who were struggling with economic hardship, mental illness, substance abuse and domestic violence. By combining clinical services with appropriate supports, the agency empowers parents so they can care for their children in their own homes. Services are individualized to meet the individual needs of the child and family, including individual and family therapy, around-the-clock crisis intervention, training in parenting skills and positive discipline, communication and problem-solving, skills-building, play therapy, and connecting families with other services.

Family Outreach utilizes licensed clinicians to provide weekly in-home psycho-therapy for children and their families to address issues of abuse and neglect or emotional, mental health and behavioral problems.

Family Connections provides intensive in-home services utilizing a team approach. A Master’s-level clinician provides individual and family therapy while a bachelor’s-level counselor provides parenting skills, links to address issues related to poverty, and other concrete services.

Family Preservation Services is an intensive, short-term crisis intervention program for children at imminent risk of removal. The four-week model infuses a high level of services to address the immediate crisis, stabilize the family, develop a plan for long-term services, as appropriate, and prevent out-of-home placement.

Child Family Team provides on-going case management services and brings together on an on-going basis everyone who cares about the child and family to develop plans which ensure children with serious emotional problems can remain in their own communities.
