Call them events, fund-raisers, friend-raisers… these are the times that we put aside the seriousness of our mission and really have some fun. We're raising money, raising awareness, and raising the corners of your mouth all at the same time. Dancing to End Child Abuse, Adieu to Angela Estes, Golf Outing and Crate & Barrel Supports Robins' Nest all provide a fun opportunity to help make a difference in the life of a child.

Dancing to End Child Abuse

The staff and volunteers at Robins' Nest, would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation and gratitude, Jillian Sloan, a Senior Procurement Analyst at Sunoco's Eagle Point Refinery in Westville, New Jersey for participating in the 2 nd Annual Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce "Dancing with the Gloucester County's Stars" charity event on behalf of Robins' Nest Children's Services. We are thrilled to announce that Robins' Nest was the recipient of over $13,000.00. Robins' Nest was thrilled to be a part of this event! Thank you Jillian!

Adieu to Anglea Estes

Angela Estes, Executive Director and CEO of Robins Nest, Inc, is retiring after 28 years of devoted service. On October 12, 2007 a Retirement and Appreciation Dinner Dance was held in her honor at the Tavistock Country Club. Over 200 family members, friends, colleagues and well wishers attended this very auspicious occasion sharing both sentimental and entertaining memories of Angela's extraordinary career.

Angela requested that all gifts be directed to the children served by Robins' Nest, therefore, a gift in Angela's honor will be placed in the Estes/Gravino Memorial Fund. All lasting gifts will ensure that her work to end child abuse and improve the lives of children in southern New Jersey will continue well into the future. All Donors making a gift to the fund will have their names permanently etched in glass in the reception area of the Children's Permanency Center.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Fundraiser

On May 5, 2007, JC and Susan Henry hosted a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Fundraiser benefiting Robins' Nest at their beautiful Haddonfield home. It was a wonderful evening filled with fantastic food and drink, the festive sounds of a mariachi band and education about Robins' Nest and the needs of vulnerable children in our community. This incredible event was attended by over 140 guests and raised a phenomenal $35,000! Highlights of the evening include the VIP “El Conquistador Lounge” which featured ceviche prepared by award-winning Chef Guillermo Pernot of Cuba Libre, wine tastings by Dr. John J. Mahoney and tequila tastings by Jim Israel.

Annual Golf Outing

The 1st Annual Charity Golf Outing to benefit Robins' Nest Charity and sponsored by EP Henry, was held on September 18 th at the Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, New Jersey. The event, "EP Henry Hardscaping Open" , hosted 100 golfers and netted $50,000 for Robins' Nest Children Services.

On Saturday, June 9th Solvay Solexis sponsored the 19th Annual Robins' Nest Golf Outing at Westwood Golf Club in West Deptford. Thanks to their efforts the tournament was a great success. The golfers enjoyed sunny skies and good golf. The wonderful day concluded with a delicious dinner and an exciting awards ceremony. All proceeds will go directly to services for children and families in Southern New Jersey.

Crate & Barrel Supports Robins' Nest

Thank you to Crate&Barrel for selecting Robins' Nest as partners in celebrating the new Cherry Hill Mall Crate&Barrel store. The private shopping evening and benefit which took place on November 7 th was a fabulous evening filled with delicious appetizers catered by Culinary Concepts accompanied with beautiful music from a live band, and topped off with a fun-filled night of shopping. Crate&Barrel will be generously donating a percentage of their sales from November 7 th through November 11 th to Robins' Nest. We are grateful to Crate&Barrel for their support of our mission of providing solutions to the problems that cause children pain and suffering.
