Volunteer Service Project Ideas

Become a mentor for a child who needs a positive role model in their life or a young adult looking for guidance as they prepare for independence.

Throw a baby shower to help a new mom and her child get off to a great start.

Host a get-together such as a craft night, book club, poetry group or exercise class.

Sponsor a trip and join our teens as they experience something new and exciting.

Have a party and encourage guests to bring essentials that will help a young adult furnish their new apartment and gain independence.*

Organize a drive to collect things like:

  • New arts and craft supplies to supplement our play therapy room or our group home
  • New toys, clothing, toiletries, baby and teen items for our Santa’s workshop
  • School supplies and backpacks to help students succeed academically*
  • Halloween costumes for children to trick or treat
  • Books for children, ages 1 through 5 to promote literacy
  • Baby bundle items to welcome a newborn *
  • Full-size toiletry and personal items to be used in “ welcome baskets” for our new group home or life link residents*
  • New children’s books and educational toys to be used as birthday gifts
  • Full-size toiletry items, journals and “girl stuff” to stock our group home “Resident’s Reward Store”*
  • Food to prepare a holiday basket for a family
  • Treats to fill Easter baskets for children and teens
  • New household cleaning supplies to support our life link youth as they prepare to live independently*

*For a list of specific items needed, please contact us.

Hold your own fundraiser to help us with the purchase of these much-needed items:

  • Gift cards for grocery stores (Shop-Rite, Acme) and retail stores (Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart), to assist a family when a specific emergency need arises
  • Gift cards to the Deptford Mall or local restaurants to supplement our mentors as they share quality time with their young friend
  • Movie theatre passes to promote family night entertainment
